GTA VI Trailer 2 Is Finally Here Showing New Characters, Locations, and More

The second trailer for the upcoming Rockstar game has been released giving us more of the story ahead of next year’s release. Watch below for almost three minutes of new footage.

The next Grand Theft Auto game has a second trailer, almost a week after developer Rockstar announced it would be delaying GTA VI's release from later this year to May 2026.

The new trailer, which is almost three minutes long, gives us a better look at Vice City and more details about the storyline for Rockstar's next big adventure, including more backstory for the Bonnie and Clyde-like characters introduced in the first trailer.

It wouldn't be a Grand Theft Auto game without criminal main characters. Rockstar’s new website for the game confirms the male protagonist’s name, Jason, which was previously leaked. He joins Lucia, who was named in the first trailer. The duo are romantically involved criminals who end up on the run from the police.

A description of the story on Rockstar’s website says, “Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.”

Although the game is set within Vice City, there are at least five other locations to explore, including Ambrosia, Grassrivers, Leonida Keys, Mount Kalaga, and Port Gellhorn.

Other characters introduced in this new trailer include Boobie Ike, Brian Heder, Cal Hampton, Dre'Quan Priest, Raul Bautista, and Real Dimez.

2002's GTA Vice City was set in a 1980s version of Miami, and the previous trailer confirmed that the game would return to the same location but with a modern storyline.

Last week, Rockstar confirmed it would delay the release of GTA VI to May 2026 "to deliver at the level of quality you expect and deserve.” The game is set to be released on Sony PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. There’s currently no word on a PC release for GTA VI, which, if Rockstar follows its normal pattern, will come at a later date.
